Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide Psychiatric Care to patients across various age groups, including children and seniors. This role requires a strong foundation in Behavioral Health with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of mental Health Disorders. The successful candidate will be proficient in utilizing electronic medical record systems and possess a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and patient assessments to determine Mental Health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations, including ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and medical imaging.
  • Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments as necessary.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients regarding health management, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and assisted living facilities.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay current with advancements in Psychiatric practices and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license with certification in primary care, with a speciality in Psychiatry
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in behavioral health.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10).
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia.
