As a Certified Medical Physicist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in medical settings. What you'll do
- Conduct thorough assessments of radiation therapy equipment and medical imaging systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop tailored treatment plans based on patient anatomy and physiology.
- Perform quality assurance tests on imaging modalities such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Mammography to guarantee optimal performance.
- Provide critical care expertise by evaluating patient conditions and recommending appropriate imaging or therapeutic interventions.
- Educate staff on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and the principles of radiation safety.
- Stay current with advancements in medical physics, integrating new technologies into clinical practice as appropriate.
- Participate in research initiatives aimed at improving radiation therapy techniques and patient outcomes.
Basic qualifications
- Strong foundation in physiology knowledge, particularly related to human anatomy and its implications for medical imaging.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in critical care settings, enhancing your ability to respond effectively to acute care situations.
- Proficiency in various medical imaging modalities, including CT and Mammography.
- Familiarity with radiation therapy protocols and practices.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology relevant to the field.

Must Have
- Master's degree in Medical physics from an accredited college or university
- Graduate from a CAMPEP accredited residency program
- ABR board certification (or equivalent)
- Full Texas licensure
- HDR planning and treatment experience
- Varian TrueBeam
