What you'll do

  • Conduct thorough assessments of radiation therapy equipment and medical imaging systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop tailored treatment plans based on patient anatomy and physiology.
  • Perform quality assurance tests on imaging modalities such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Mammography to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Provide critical care expertise by evaluating patient conditions and recommending appropriate imaging or therapeutic interventions.
  • Educate staff on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and the principles of radiation safety.
  • Stay current with advancements in medical physics, integrating new technologies into clinical practice as appropriate.
  • Participate in research initiatives aimed at improving radiation therapy techniques and patient outcomes.

Basic qualifications

  • Strong foundation in physiology knowledge, particularly related to human anatomy and its implications for medical imaging.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in critical care settings, enhancing your ability to respond effectively to acute care situations.
  • Proficiency in various medical imaging modalities, including CT and Mammography.
  • Familiarity with radiation therapy protocols and practices.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology relevant to the field.

Must Have

  • Master's degree in Medical physics from an accredited college or university
  • Graduate from a CAMPEP accredited residency program
  • ABR board certification (or equivalent)
  • Full Texas licensure
  • HDR planning and treatment experience
