A well?established HVAC and mechanical services firm in Maplewood, NJ, is seeking a Junior HVAC Project Manager to join their team. You'll support project delivery on commercial and industrial HVAC engagements while gaining mentorship and growth potential in a hands?on environment.

What You'll Do as the Junior HVAC Project Manager:

  • Assist senior PMs in managing HVAC projects from kickoff through closeout
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and progress, and report status updates
  • Help prepare submittals, RFIs, change orders, and maintain project documentation
  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries and logistics
  • Act as liaison with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure execution
  • Attend project meetings, record action items, and follow up with stakeholders
  • Help enforce site safety compliance and quality control
  • Gradually take ownership of smaller HVAC projects as your experience grows

Must?Haves as the Junior HVAC Project Manager:

  • 1?3 years of experience (or internship/assistant PM exposure) in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or construction
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, terminology, and construction practices
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for problem-solving, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project management software is a plus
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (but not required)

Nice?to?Haves as the Junior HVAC Project Manager:

  • Prior exposure to VRV/VRF systems (e.g. Daikin, Applied)
  • Experience with subcontractor management or procurement
  • Past experience in scheduling software (e.g. MS Project, Procore, Primavera)
  • Familiarity with site safety standards (OSHA) and quality assurance
