Job Summary
Our client, a leading financial organization, is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst – Retail Banking to join their risk management team. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage analytical expertise to identify risks and opportunities, influence credit strategies, and drive impactful business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Apply advanced analytical and industry best practices to evaluate credit risk across the managed portfolio, delivering actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Synthesize complex data, identify root causes, and provide clear, concise recommendations to support credit risk strategy development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement credit risk strategies across lines of defense, translating analytical findings into meaningful business actions.
- Conduct benchmarking and market research to inform credit strategy decisions.
- Utilize quantitative analysis, including internal and external data, to solve complex business problems.
- Develop, manage, and present comprehensive risk and financial reporting to support senior management and committee oversight of existing and emerging risks.
- Perform financial risk sensitivity analysis and monitor portfolio performance.
- Create requirements and ensure credit strategies are executed as intended.
- Apply programming and analytical techniques to evaluate credit data, leveraging tools such as SAS, SQL, and Python.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to guide initiatives and facilitate the implementation of key projects.
- Ensure business activities comply with risk management and regulatory policies.
What You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a Mathematical discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of experience in analytical roles, including advanced analytics, risk assessments, or leading analytical projects; or an advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Understanding of banking regulations, risk management practices, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in analytical coding languages such as SAS, SQL, or Python.
- Familiarity with federal regulations, including FCRA, Reg B, UDAAP/UDAP, and OCC credit risk guidance.
What Sets You Apart
- Advanced expertise in SAS and SQL, with experience using BI tools like Tableau.
- Experience analyzing credit risk for consumer credit or deposit products, including identifying root causes of performance shifts.
- Ability to recommend changes to underwriting strategies for new and existing accounts to optimize risk.
- Knowledge of explanatory modeling techniques such as difference-in-difference, fixed, and random effects models.
- Skilled in preparing executive-level presentations and communicating complex analytical results.
- US military experience or military family background is a plus.
