Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, understanding their vehicle concerns and service needs
  • Prepare detailed service estimates using auto estimating tools, explaining repair options clearly
  • Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics and customer needs
  • Write service orders accurately, ensuring all necessary repairs and parts are documented
  • Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion
  • Provide updates to customers regarding vehicle status and explain repair procedures in an understandable manner
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, alignments, air brake systems, auto body repairs, and other mechanical services
  • Promote customer retention through excellent service writing and follow-up communications
  • Stay informed about new automotive technologies and repair techniques to better serve customers

Requirements

  • Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures
  • Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is highly desirable
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Ability to upsell services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance including transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, alignments, air brakes, and auto body repairs
  • Experience in auto sales or automobile sales is a plus
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Professional appearance and demeanor with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred
