NCS field engineers may initiate modifications to criticality safety evaluations (CSEs), resolve noncompliance's/discrepancies, and perform verifications and validations to revised CSEs. NCS engineers in the group spend significant time in the nuclear facilities and frequently interact with operators, management, other engineering/safety disciplines, and federal oversight.
Candidates with no prior NCS experience will enter a 1-2 year qualification program to obtain necessary technical skills.

DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
