Job Summary
The Communications and Outreach Project Manager oversees all facets of public communications and community engagement projects to ensure alignment with Agile Dream Team's mission, compliance standards, and stakeholder expectations. This role manages outreach strategies, content development, procurement processes, and project timelines in accordance with the Public Participation Plan (PPP), Title VI, and WMATA Compact requirements. The position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to successfully deliver high-impact outreach initiatives and public-facing materials.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage communications and outreach projects, including planning, timeline development, and budget management.
- Develop task orders, scopes of work, and procurement documentation for outreach contracts and initiatives.
- Oversee the creation, editing, and review of content for public communications, outreach materials, and Board of Directors submissions.
- Ensure all outreach activities and deliverables comply with Title VI, FTA, and WMATA Compact regulations.
- Manage outreach logistics, including staffing, scheduling, and coordination of events and community engagements.
- Maintain documentation, tracking, and recordkeeping as required by the Public Participation Plan (PPP) and FTA standards.
- Update and manage the PPP database to ensure accurate reporting and transparency.
- Develop and facilitate training programs for staff involved in PPP and community engagement efforts.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for ADT and Metro at public events, stakeholder meetings, and outreach sessions.
- Deliver presentations, distribute surveys, and represent the organization with professionalism and cultural awareness.
- Foster relationships with community leaders, advocacy groups, and external partners to enhance engagement and inclusion.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Public Relations, Business, Planning, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience managing communications or outreach projects, preferably within a large, service-oriented organization.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong writing, editing, and public communication abilities.
- Experience managing procurement documentation and contract compliance.
- Familiarity with Title VI, FTA guidelines, and public participation regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and CRM databases.
- Residency: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Washington D.C. (on-site position).
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage deadlines, and represent the organization in public forums.
- Languages: Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $91, $110,060.23 per year
