Primary Services is actively recruiting for a
Category Specialist - IT Sourcing
to support a leading company in the technology and energy sector. The
Category Specialist
will be responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing process for IT products and services, leading vendor negotiations, and ensuring that all contracts align with organizational goals and compliance standards. This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with business leaders and technology teams, driving cost-effective and strategic procurement decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for IT hardware, software, and professional services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on performance, financial stability, and technical capability.
  • Conduct market research to monitor pricing trends, emerging technologies, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Lead vendor negotiations to secure favorable pricing, service level agreements (SLAs), and delivery terms.
  • Draft, review, and manage IT contracts to ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and IT stakeholders to define requirements and align sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain documentation for vendor agreements, risk assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor vendor performance, address issues, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all sourcing and contract management activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement, sourcing, or contract management within a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience negotiating complex IT contracts for software, hardware, cloud services, and professional services.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor management principles, and IT sourcing strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management or ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance standards related to IT procurement a plus.
