General Summary:

Sell tennis merchandise in the tennis shop. Maintain the tennis shop. Sell tennis court time.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Supervisor Responsibilities
    • None
  2. Primary Duties
    • Supplies towels, cups and ice to members and guests.
    • Records all charge tickets.
    • Changes displays when instructed.
    • Restocks merchandise when necessary.
    • Empties trash on each court and cleans courts.
    • Keeps storage area tidy.
    • Records court reservations and assists in finding cooperative partners for players.
    • Promotes and sells tennis shop merchandise.
    • Updates sign-up sheets for court reservations.
    • Vacuums and dusts tennis shop daily.
    • Takes towels to and from laundry area.
    • Reports all complaints to the tennis professional.
    • Assists members and guests with tennis shop purchases.
    • Participates in departmental and club training meetings.
    • Assures development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures which guide and support provisions of designated services.

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Demonstration of cooperation, interest, and enthusiasm in support of the club's mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives.
  3. Outstanding customer service skills.
  4. Willingness to learn and adapt to varied and added responsibilities.

Certification/Education and Experience:

  1. Previous customer service retailing experience preferred.

Working Condition:

  1. There is a potential for stressful situations and for long hours.
  2. Potential for frequent interruptions

Physical Requirements:

  1. The person in this position constantly communicates with members, guests, colleagues, and managers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  2. Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  3. Adjusting or moving objects up to 60 pounds in all directions.
  4. Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting.
