Boston, Massachusetts, United States AcuityMD Full time $180,000 - $210,000
Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates access to medical technologies. We help MedTech companies understand how their products are used, why customers vary, and identify opportunities for physicians to better serve their patients. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. Our solution helps MedTech companies get these products to physicians more effectively so they can improve patient care with the latest technology. We're backed by Benchmark, Redpoint, ICONIQ Growth, and Ajax Health. We're a high-growth SaaS company scaling rapidly.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be directly interacting with other teams across Engineering and production. Through collaboration, you'll design, build, and operate the platform primitives—compute, networking, storage, CI/CD, and developer tooling—that power our applications end-to-end. You'll drive reliability, security, and efficiency while enabling a great developer experience. You'll also help define our strategic goals as we evolve our infrastructure and our practices to maximize our internal and customer impact.

Team Mission

Our Platform Team is the backbone that keeps product teams shipping quickly and safely. We deliver direct customer value through our cloud capabilities and security. We impact internal success through partnerships with application teams and enabling a great development experience.

Responsibilities
  • Steward core platform services: Design, implement, and operate container orchestration, service mesh, ingress, and secrets management at scale.
  • Cross-functional partnership: Collaborate with Product Eng, Data, and Security to plan capacity, introduce new platform capabilities, and guide architectural decisions.
  • Harden reliability: Drive observability (logging, metrics, tracing), and automated remediation to improve availability and latency.
  • Automate everything: Use infrastructure-as-code and configuration management to make systems and processes repeatable, auditable, and secure.
  • Scale cost-effectively: Optimize cluster utilization, autoscaling, and storage/networking to balance performance, reliability, and spend.
  • Level-up developer experience: Build internal tooling, templates, and golden paths that reduce cognitive load and time-to-first-deploy for product teams.
  • On-call & incident response: Participate in a sustainable on-call rotation, drive post-mortems, eliminate toil, and reduce MTTR via automation.
  • Enable fast, safe delivery: Evolve CI/CD pipelines (build/test/release), and environment strategies (dev/stage/prod).
Your Profile
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on infrastructure, DevOps, and/or platform engineering
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on enabling others.
  • Team-focused approach to planning and executing work.
  • Pragmatic problem-solver who communicates clearly, documents well, and thrives in fast-moving, high-ownership environments.
  • Deep experience working with cloud infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in observability: metrics, logs, traces, and building actionable alerts/SLOs.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one modern programming language.
  • Track record of improving developer productivity and system reliability.
  • Familiarity with security fundamentals: IAM, workload identity, network policies, encryption, and secrets management.
Nice to Haves
  • Open source contributions
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification.
  • Experience with
    • Company transitioning from startup to high-growth
    • Google Cloud Platform
