Senior Accountant - Norcross, GA

Senior Accountant 

The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and is primarily responsible for coordinating the daily accounting functions of the business.  The Sr. Accountant's responsibilities include performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as a Sr. Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Sr. Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

Manage the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Ensure monthly job costing is accurate and prepare accruals as neededProvide oversight, support and leadership for A/R and A/P positionsPrepare sales tax returns and property tax returnsAssist with preparing and monitoring budgets, and help with variance analysisAssist in the annual audit process, including Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-complianceAssist with new ERP and other business software implementations in conjunction with the Controller and VP of Finance & AccountingPerform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the Controller

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting3+ years of accounting experience.Demonstrated ability to analyze results and determine areas of improvement and causal effectsStrong financial analysis skillsMicrosoft Office suite experience including proficient Excel skillsSolid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Strong business acumen and good time managementAttention to detailStrong verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills

CPA CertificationExperience with ERP implementation as well as other business software implementationsNetSuite software experienceFinancial Planning & Analysis experienceSales and Use Tax experience
