ENTRY LEVEL | LEGAL RECEPTIONIST

FIRM DESCRIPTION:

Jetton & Meredith, PLLC is a law firm representing clients in the areas of divorce, family law, criminal law, personal injury and worker's compensation in Charlotte, and Mecklenburg County, including all surrounding areas.

JOB SUMMARY:

Jetton & Meredith seeks a mature, professional, energetic, and motivated individual to fill an entry level position as our full-time Legal Receptionist in our busy Charlotte office. This position is ideal for recent college grads; someone looking to make a career change into the legal field; or candidates who have no experience and are looking for their first great opportunity to get their foot in the door and start their career in a professional environment.

The entry level legal receptionist will be responsible for answering the phones, directing calls, and taking messages. The receptionist will maintain the front desk area, and ensure all customers are greeted upon arrival. The individual will offer ongoing assistance with basic admin needs such as writing letters, making copies, etc. while providing exceptional customer service to all established and potential new clients of the firm. The receptionist will manage the switchboard and direct clients, vendors, and guests, to the proper person in a professional, accurate and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

· Managing the switchboard;

· Answering multiple phone lines;

· Setting up new client consultations;

· Tracking client payments;

· Corresponding with clients;

· General office duties: typing, filing, data entry;

· Maintaining spreadsheets;

· Updating client information – address changes, new phone number changes, etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· A high school education is required.

· This is entry level position, no experience required – however, candidates who have a minimum of 1+ years of related work experience are preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Requires excellent communication skills with a varied audience, including partners, other staff members, clients, and outside parties.

· To be considered, applicants must possess a willingness to go above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service to all firm clients.

· Displays the ability to express self clearly by using proper grammar and vocabulary; comments are organized and precise; must have the ability to describe a set of facts in an organized, clear and unambiguous fashion.

· Requires an exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently while producing a high-quality work product.

· Must be able to follow-up on assignment in situations where there is little or no guidance and have the capability to follow firm policies and related practice area directions without repeated reminders or making carless errors.

· Requires a positive, flexible and committed attitude.

· Candidates must have excellent time management skills while working independently in an atmosphere of frequent phone calls from new and existing clients and other normal interruptions during the workday.

· Requires critical thinking skills sufficient to make decisions regarding daily work; a willingness to follow instructions and the responsibility of bringing all problems to the supervising partner.

· Multitasking ability is a MUST.
