Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and a positive experience to ensure customer satisfaction, including greeting customers and answering questions as needed.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of food products, including meats and vegetables, following established recipes to ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation. Assist kitchen personnel with cooking, weighing, packaging, labeling, and pricing.
  • Display Maintenance: Maintain fresh and appealing displays by keeping cases, shelves, and displays clean and well-stocked, regularly checking product freshness and quality, and adhering to quality control standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment and serve products in the Food/Kitchen/Juice Bar area, including preparing food, juices, coffee, specialty drinks, and smoothies.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure timely management of inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining sufficient levels of prepared products for smooth service, while adhering to food safety standards by stocking and rotating prepared foods.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations regarding product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation, maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary working environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist in training associates and foster a team-oriented environment, while effectively communicating expectations and responsibilities.
  • Reporting: Maintain daily temperature logs and kitchen setup station logs, submitting them at the end of each shift to the manager on duty.
  • Sales Techniques: Utilize suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • General Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Age Requirement: Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Food Handler certification is required, with preference for additional certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of related high-volume cooking or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Language: Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs; must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and perform various physical tasks, including bending and kneeling.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms, promoting a positive team environment and effectively engaging with team members and customers.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills for following recipes and managing inventory.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment (e.g., mixers, commercial ovens, knives), read and operate digital equipment, and use precision and non-precision hand tools.
  • Adaptability: Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes and work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Training: Typically involves on-the-job training.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills for following recipes and managing inventory.

Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in a retail store setting, with exposure to hot surfaces, extreme cold, damp conditions, and cleaning agents. The noise level is typically quiet to moderate.
