Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in providing assistance and guidance to individuals navigating housing and social services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, fair housing regulations, and property management, along with excellent negotiation and crisis intervention skills. You will be responsible for coordinating support services, advocating for clients, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Duties

  • Facilitate communication between clients and service providers to ensure access to necessary resources.
  • Assist clients in understanding their rights and responsibilities under landlord-tenant law and fair housing regulations.
  • Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized support plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and management to clients facing housing instability or personal challenges.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate records using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite.
  • Stay informed about LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and Section 8 housing assistance.
  • Collaborate with social work professionals and addiction counseling services to address client needs holistically.
  • Advocate for clients during negotiations with landlords or service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, fair housing regulations, and property management practices.
  • Experience with crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing assistance, and related social services.
  • Proficiency in using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients' needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
