Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and obtain vitals, medical history, and reason for visit
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments including pap smears, pelvic exams, and prenatal visits
  • Administer injections and medications as directed
  • Perform basic lab tests, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
  • Provide patient education and instructions for follow-up care
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Support a positive, team-focused clinic culture

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants or Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Current CMA certification through one of the of the following credentialing body; AAMA, AMT, NCCT or NHA.
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa/Illinois for Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.

  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.

  • Computer data entry experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
