Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Leasing Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management and customer service, with a focus on leasing residential properties. As a Leasing Consultant, you will play a crucial role in attracting and retaining tenants while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant laws. Your ability to build relationships and provide exceptional service will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct property tours and showcase available units to prospective tenants.
  • Assist in the leasing process, including preparing lease agreements and conducting background checks.
  • Maintain knowledge of local rental markets, trends, and property features to effectively market available units.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing tenant inquiries and resolving conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Utilize property management software such as Yardi or OneSite for data entry, filing, and tracking tenant information.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant laws throughout the leasing process.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address tenant concerns regarding property maintenance.
  • Engage in upselling additional services or features to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to leasing activities, including contract negotiations and documentation management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in leasing, property management, or real estate administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Section 8 housing regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships with tenants.
  • Proficiency in office software and customer relationship management (CRM) tools; experience with CMMS is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and filing processes.
  • Effective phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for engaging with prospective tenants and current residents.
