Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the direct processing of invoices, payments, and statement reconciliations. The AP Specialist is also responsible for maintaining accurate financial records.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure all invoices have appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Enter invoices for payment across a primary and secondary ERP system.
- Ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
- Manages customer-vendor relations and works closely with the purchasing department.
- Issue weekly check runs, ACH's, or Credit Card Payments
- Drive to mailing or banking facilities to mail or deposit as business requires.
- Review vendor statements
- Reconcile vendor accounts and their balances.
- Assist and support AP supervisor and AP Manager as required.
- Request, download, and rename invoices.
- Saving invoices to convention throughout a series of files and folders
- Maintaining email communication internally and externally.
Education and experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 3+ years experience in the field of accounting and all aspects of accounts payable.
- Computer knowledge must include MS Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Physical requirements and working conditions
: Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds; noise level is usually moderate. All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride along with a field technician as part of their employment. Requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be onsite 3 days a week. Must have a reliable home internet connection and a quiet work environment. May have the option to work from home 2 days a week.
