Washington, Washington, D.C., United States ClearBridge Technology Group Full time $120,000 - $200,000 per year

Our client, a large business consulting company, is looking to hire a Technical Project Manager – Identity and Access Management (IAM) for a 3-6 month remote contract. The consultant will lead a large, complex Identity and Access Management (IAM) engagement. This individual will oversee the transition of legacy IAM solutions to a modern platform, ensuring seamless integration and migration while addressing technical and operational challenges. The consultant will need to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and dependencies, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

The consultant will lead the end-to-end delivery of an IAM transformation program, including the migration of legacy authentication solutions (e.g., PingOne SSO, FedProxy, AviationID) to Auth0. The Technical PM will oversee the transition of applications to new landing zones (Azure and AWS), ensuring alignment with the IAM strategy and technical requirements. The consultant will also need to manage the seamless migration of user accounts from legacy systems, leveraging federation and bulk upload processes to minimize customer disruption.

The Scope Highlights Are

  • Legacy IAM Transition: Replace FedProxy, PingOne SSO, and PingFederate with Auth0, ensuring seamless account migration and federation.
  • Application Migration: Transition applications to new Azure and AWS landing zones, including updates to authentication mechanisms.
  • Customer ID Reconciliation: Address discrepancies in customer ID values across systems to align with the target state.
  • Modern Authentication Standards: Implement OAuth2 Private Key JWT for device/app authentication, replacing custom X.509/CMD solutions.
  • Gateway Solutions: Prototype and deploy Azure API Gateway for SPAs and S2S integrations, with exceptions for classic web apps.
  • Pilot Programs: Execute pilots for applications such as NMT, Fuel Analytics Dashboard, and Crew Tracking to validate migration approaches.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, with a proven track record of delivering complex IAM projects.
  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including authentication/authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth2, SSO, RBAC, federation), and modern tools such as Auth0 or Okta.
  • Experience managing migrations from legacy IAM solutions (e.g., PingOne SSO, AviationID, FedProxy) to modern platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure and AWS) and landing zone transitions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical details to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience
