Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable tutor to join our team and provide specialized instruction in AP Macro and Micro Economics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions with high school students preparing for AP Macro and Micro Economics exams.
  • Develop customized lesson plans and teaching materials tailored to the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
  • Review course materials, assignments, and practice exams to assess students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Provide clear explanations of key economic concepts, principles, and theories, using real-world examples to enhance understanding.
  • Help students improve their problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities through interactive exercises and discussions.
  • Monitor students' progress and track their performance to ensure academic success and achievement of learning objectives.
  • Stay updated on changes to the AP Macro and Micro Economics curriculum, exam format, and scoring guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong understanding of macroeconomic and microeconomic principles, theories, and applications.
  • Prior teaching or tutoring experience, particularly in AP Economics or a similar advanced-level course.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
  • Patient, supportive, and adaptable teaching style, with a passion for helping students succeed academically.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online resources for remote tutoring sessions (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and confidence.

Schedule:

Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on students' availability and scheduling needs. Part-time position with the potential for additional hours during peak periods (e.g., exam season).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
