Senior Accountant

Location: Addison, TX (In Person) or Remote in Canada

The Role

They are looking for a detail oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role will play a key part in supporting financial reporting, month-end close, and day to day accounting operations during an important transition period for the company. Its a great opportunity for someone looking to transition from public practice into industry, or for an experienced accountant seeking to broaden their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain the accounting records in NetSuite while also working cross-functionally with the accounts receivable and payable teams.
  • Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with compiling and preparing month-end financial statements for the management team, including variance analysis against prior period and budget.
  • Review payroll entries and other recurring transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Have the opportunity to grow into streamlining the consolidation process, prepare note disclosures for financial statements, and assisting with due diligence for financing.

What They're Looking For

  • Current or pending CPA designation.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various team members.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with annual audits.
  • Strong communication skills.

What They'd Like to Have

  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP accounting software.
  • Experience with IFRS/US GAAP.
  • Experience filing GST/PST/EHT/US Sales tax returns.
