We are seeking a Special Events Manager to join our Development & Marketing team. This is an exciting time for Jewish Family Service as we welcome our new CEO, and the Special Events Manager will play a key role in planning and executing a dynamic calendar of events throughout the year to mark this important transition. This position serves as lead staff for Development & Marketing Department events, including the annual Community of Caring Luncheon, Major Donor events, CEO events, house parties, cultivation events, and other special events. They manage all details of an event, working collaboratively with the Development & Marketing team, program staff, volunteers, and vendors to create budgets, timelines, and communications strategy and materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, manage and execute all aspects of special events (Community of Caring Luncheon, Major Donor events, house parties, etc.)
- Coordinate event logistics including venue selections, vendor contracts, rentals, catering, audiovisual components, speakers, décor, and more.
- Provide staff support to event committees, which include staff and volunteer leadership.
- Manage and track event budgets, submitting invoices and credit card statements for processing.
- Partner with Program Staff and Development & Marketing staff on client participants, speakers, speeches, videos, and other content for events.
- Create and manage detailed event timelines and programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications team on collateral material for events, including printed and electronic communications, event programs, pledge cards, centerpieces, and email communication plans.
- Work in tandem with the Data Services Department to ensure appropriate event information is recorded in the EveryAction database.
- Collaborate on the development of queries and reports for events.
- Work in partnership with Development team members and volunteer leadership to maximize event attendance.
- Coordinate with team members who assist with guest registration.
- Run credit cards for donor gifts after the Luncheon and at other busy times of year (ex: end of calendar Year and end of fiscal year.
- During less busy times, assist other departments with their events and/or help Development & Marketing team members with projects.
- Work as a member of an integrated team to increase all agency giving.
- Other events and/or duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in event management, nonprofit management, marketing, communications or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience producing events, preferable in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Capable of working diplomatically with a variety of stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as be a collegial member of a team.
- Familiarity with organized Jewish community; knowledge of Jewish practices and culture preferred.
- Must be able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage last-minute changes and changing circumstances with flexibility.
- Flexibility in arranging work schedule outside regular working hours.
- Valid WA state driver's license and required levels of insurance, and access to personal vehicle.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, experience with donor databases and ASANA a plus.
SALARY:
- The pay for this position is $ $41.17 an hour.
