We are prioritizing our Atlanta, Cincinnati, or Boston offices (hybrid 2 days) prior to fully remote work in the United States. We will not consider candidates in a West Coast time zone.

What you'll own as the Senior Platform Engineer

This isn't a pure heads-down coding role—or a hands-off architect one either. We need someone who can: understand complex systems and make smart architectural decisions, dive deep into the guts of the platform when needed, help level up the engineers around them, drive technical direction and accelerate team maturity, and you'll partner closely with engineering leadership to own critical platform components, shape internal tooling, and build a more autonomous, reliable team.

• Own the technical architecture for core on premises platform systems and services
• Design, refactor, and improve internal tooling and configuration management.
• Architect scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments
• Identify system weaknesses and lead efforts to harden and scale
• Contribute hands-on to codebases where your impact is highest
• Collaborate across teams (infra, SRE, dev) to align platform goals with business needs
• Mentor engineers and help define standards, drive technical culture, and grow team capability

What you'll bring

• 8+ years in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering roles
• Experience designing and supporting production systems at scale
• Deep expertise in Linux systems and networking
• Strong fluency in scripting/programming (Python, Go, Ruby, etc.)
• Proven track record with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Proficiency with configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
• Strong written and verbal communication—you explain trade-offs, not just solutions
• A builder mindset: you don't just maintain systems—you make them better
• Strong networking knowledge.
• Passion for shaping team culture and helping others grow
• Prior experience in a Staff, Principal, or Architect-level role
• Experience mentoring, reviewing code, and sharing knowledge
• Exposure to hybrid cloud or container platforms (EKS, GKE, etc.)
• Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001)

The pay range for this full-time position is $140, $235,600.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
