Job Overview:

Foundation AI is seeking an experienced, certified, and highly knowledgeable Senior Scrum Master to maximize the effectiveness and predictability of multiple high?performing development teams, specifically those focused on Data Science and AI product development. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of the Scrum framework across simultaneous sprints, maintaining rigorous process standards, and driving continuous delivery of our core intelligent products.

The Role

You are an expert Scrum practitioner and a hands?on servant leader dedicated to maximizing the efficiency of your teams. Your primary responsibility is the meticulous application of Scrum theory, practices, and rules to ensure both teams operate with high stability, predictability, and velocity. You will be the authority on process, quality gates, and flow, enabling the teams to consistently meet their commitments while navigating the unique challenges of model iteration and data dependency.

Key Responsibilities
Multi?Team Service & Process Mastery

• Dual?Team Oversight: Serve as the dedicated Scrum Master for two distinct Scrum Teams concurrently, harmonizing practices while respecting each team's unique context, particularly in Data Science and AI/ML model deployment.
• Predictability & Velocity: Implement proven techniques to increase and stabilize team velocity (with a proven ability to achieve gains of ?10% year?over?year) and improve forecasting accuracy.
• Quality Gate Enforcement: Ensure strict adherence to both the Definition of Ready (DoR) and the Definition of Done (DoD) for every item entering and leaving the sprint. This includes specific DoD criteria for model training, testing (A/B testing readiness), and infrastructure validation.
• Masterful Facilitation: Expertly plan and lead all Scrum ceremonies for both teams, ensuring they are productive, goal?oriented, and strictly time?boxed. Active participation and facilitation of Product Backlog Refinement (PBR) is critical for technical story sizing.
  

Impediment Removal & Technical Focus

• Active Impediment Resolution: Proactively identify, track, and resolve complex, systemic, and cross?functional impediments, particularly those related to data pipeline dependencies, environment provisioning, and collaboration between Data Scientists and MLOps/Engineering teams.
• Deep Engagement: Be actively engaged in the daily work and ceremonies, observing flow and immediately addressing issues within the team's working agreements.
• Protect Team Focus: Act as a robust shield, protecting the Development Teams from external distractions, unplanned requests, and unwarranted stakeholder interference during the sprint.
  

Transparency, Metrics, & Improvement

• Metrics Ownership: Ensure accurate and timely reporting of key performance metrics, including velocity trends, cycle time, defect ratios, and sprint commitment success rate.
• Continuous Improvement: Champion the retrospective process, ensuring that actionable, measurable experiments are derived from each session and followed through to completion.
  

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of direct, deep experience as a dedicated Scrum Master, with at least 2 years serving multiple teams simultaneously.
• Domain Expertise: Proven experience working with teams in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), or MLOps environments. This includes familiarity with the unique workflow of model development, training, and deployment.
• Certifications (Advanced): Possess and maintain at least one advanced, internationally recognized Scrum certification: Certified Scrum Professional (CSP?SM), or Professional Scrum Master III (PSM III), or equivalent.
• Skillset: Proven track record in improving team flow, predictability, and efficiency, specifically in areas affected by data and scientific uncertainty.
• Knowledge: Comprehensive mastery of Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile principles, with demonstrated ability to apply frameworks flexibly to complex team contexts.
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills, focused on clear, objective delivery of information and effective conflict resolution.
