General PurposeThe Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best?practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation.
Essential Functions- Practice safe behaviors; safety is the number one priority.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment, keeping egress clear and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Treat customers and colleagues with respect and courtesy; greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly hello.
- Assist customers by providing register training, merchandise assistance, and product knowledge; respond promptly to customer inquiries.
- Handle customer issues courteously, calling store leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high?touch areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company's dress code.
- Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
- Expedite merchandise receipts, merchandising all items per company best practice and monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand loss prevention programs, shortage highway, store protection specialist duties, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions; safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card and merchandise.
- Follow all mark?out?of?stock policies and proper disposal procedures.
- Follow all cash, check, charge?card, refund, void and offline policies; maintain accuracy with bankable tenders.

- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store for 100% of working time.
- Bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25?pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Additional qualifications may apply for specific assignments or stockroom shifts (e.g., lifting more than 20?pounds).
