General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best?practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation.

Essential Functions

• Practice safe behaviors; safety is the number one priority.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment, keeping egress clear and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Treat customers and colleagues with respect and courtesy; greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly hello.
• Assist customers by providing register training, merchandise assistance, and product knowledge; respond promptly to customer inquiries.
• Handle customer issues courteously, calling store leadership when needed.
• Represent and support the company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high?touch areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company's dress code.
• Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
• Expedite merchandise receipts, merchandising all items per company best practice and monthly presentation guidelines.
• Understand loss prevention programs, shortage highway, store protection specialist duties, and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions; safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card and merchandise.
• Follow all mark?out?of?stock policies and proper disposal procedures.
• Follow all cash, check, charge?card, refund, void and offline policies; maintain accuracy with bankable tenders.
• Execute all store best practices efficiently to maximize productivity.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments.
  

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
• Stand, walk, and move around the store for 100% of working time.
• Bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25?pounds.
• Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
• Additional qualifications may apply for specific assignments or stockroom shifts (e.g., lifting more than 20?pounds).
