DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary responsibility of this position is to review referrals for substance use inpatient treatment services as well as communicate approval or denial with the referral source. This position requires a thorough understanding of substance use disorder and the approval process including verifying insurance information, reviewing assessments, confirming requests are for the appropriate level of care, determining continuation of stay, and compiling discharge plans. Work also involves processing authorizations or denials, addressing inquires from providers and individuals seeking services, and assisting with the oversight of the Single County Authority Treatment Needs Assessment and Plan by coordinating meeting, planning sessions, setting goals, and tracking updates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time (hybrid), after 6-months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Drexel Hill. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or a related field; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting; or
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
