Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Software Engineer to join our dynamic Agile development team. In this role, you will take ownership of critical features and help enhance a product that serves over 5 million active users. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver high-quality, maintainable code.
• Lead the development lifecycle from planning and design to deployment and maintenance.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to enhance the user experience.
• Contribute actively in team discussions, embodying an ownership mindset.
• Share knowledge, review pull requests, mentor team members, and suggest improvements to the product.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with Agile teams to maintain and develop backend systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to define software verification strategies.
• Engage with the support team to prioritize and swiftly resolve customer issues.

• Work alongside Product Owners and UX Designers to deliver user-centric solutions on time.
• Tackle complex non-functional requirements such as high availability and scalability.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend solutions within your team’s domain.
• Ensure seamless integration and delivery by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Create and maintain clear internal technical documentation.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to community-driven decision-making and shape the technical roadmap.
• Enhance development processes and best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience in developing web applications using PHP.
• Strong understanding of web infrastructure, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
• Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Hands-on experience with design patterns in PHP.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices against vulnerabilities.
• Basic familiarity with Docker and web security concepts.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Background in Computer Science or a related field.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
• Advocate of best practices in software development.
• Ability to manage detailed tasks while maintaining a holistic view of the system.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Skilled in knowledge transfer and mentoring others.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with commerce systems and payment providers.
• Familiarity with C# and .NET Core.
• Familiarity with Knime.
• Advanced techniques for securing PHP applications.
