Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for preparing, examining, and analyzing records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Process and record accounts payable transactions
• Provide oversight and facilitate vendor disbursements, including processing physical checks and electronic payment
• Record daily automatic debits to our checking account
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and research discrepancies
• Reconcile credit card accounts
• Process and reconcile lease payoff accounts
• Prepare monthly financial reports
• Make standard and correcting journal entries
• Conduct reports on Sales Representative revenue and gross profit tracking
• Assist with annual audit
• Enter dealer compensation reports and corresponding credit memos
• Set up new assets in fixed asset sub-ledger, remove assets as needed, book monthly depreciation, and reconcile accounts
• Complete intercompany balancing and transfers for all companies
• Cash application backup
• Miscellaneous accounting projects
• Maintains various spreadsheets needed to perform above duties
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.Knowledge: Minimum of three years of accounting experience is required. Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting.
2.Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with strong interpersonal abilities and keen attention to detail. Demonstrated capacity to maintain high performance standards, exhibit a strong work ethic, and ensure consistent reliability and attendance.
3.Abilities: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
