SUMMARY
As a Chain Business Manager (CBM), you'll lead the strategic direction and execution of commercial initiatives within your assigned channel. You'll drive revenue, volume, and distribution by developing customer-specific strategies, building high-impact relationships with key buyers, and aligning internal resources to deliver results at retail. You'll be the strategic voice for your accounts, collaborating cross-functionally with sales leadership, operations, brand management, and supplier partners to ensure consistent success in the marketplace.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic Leadership & Account Ownership
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy for your channel, aligning customer-specific plans with supplier initiatives and enterprise targets.
- Own the planning process, integrating promotional calendars, new product launches, and key brand priorities into actionable account programs.
- Serve as the primary strategic lead for assigned customer relationships, facilitating joint business planning and aligning customer goals with your commercial strategy.
- Partner with sales leadership, brand management, and operations to ensure forecasts, timelines, and organizational readiness support your commercial plans.
- Translate customer and supplier strategies into executable plans for sales teams, ensuring the strategic vision is achieved at the point of sale.
- Monitor in-market performance, ROI, and retail execution trends to continuously refine strategies and maximize results.
- Coordinate with Space Planning teams to ensure retail sets are implemented correctly.
- Use sales performance data, market analytics, and customer insights to identify opportunities and shape go-to-market strategies.
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws.
- Follow company dress code and grooming standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in business, marketing, finance, supply chain, or related field-or equivalent on-the-job training.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in retail or chain management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute commercial strategies and build strong customer relationships.

MATH AND LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
