Job Summary:

The Personal Trainer is responsible for providing fitness evaluations and exercise prescriptions to JCC members. Additionally, the personal trainer will be asked to participate in marketing opportunities including group training demos, wellness program initiatives, fitness clinics, and new member FIT onboarding sessions as directed. They should be ambassadors for the fitness center, seek to offer assistance and education to members, and ensure safe and proper use of fitness equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Professionalism. Be an ambassador for the JCC Fitness Center
  • Wear JCC provided uniform for all personal training sessions, onboarding sessions, demos, and clinics.
  • Schedule and conduct new member FIT sessions
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and orderly fitness environment.
  • Maintain an up to date, accurate client schedule.
  • Ensure all clients have a current personal training package through clear and timely communication.
  • Submit payroll information on time as directed.
  • Keep a current personal training certification from an accredited organization including CPR/AED.
  • Work together with all departments, including being aware of other fitness center initiatives such as incentive programs, new classes, or wellness programs.

To best serve our members' needs, we are seeking Personal Trainers with flexible availability, particularly during early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

  1. CPR and first aid certifications
  2. Minimum one (1) nationally recognized certification from one of the following; ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, NSCA, NSPA, ISSA, NCEP
  3. Operational knowledge of resistance training equipment and proper form
  4. 4-year college degree in fitness related field or Personal Training Certification from an accredited organization (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc...)
