About the Team

Our Behavioral Health Services (BHS) team consists of a multidisciplinary group of skilled professionals, including Psychiatrists, Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Mental Health Professionals, Medical Assistants, and Administrative Staff. Together, we set a gold standard in behavioral health care by effectively connecting patients to the most suitable level of treatment. Our mission is to enhance access to behavioral health services, improve health outcomes for patients with pressing mental health needs, all while reducing unnecessary emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

Shift: Sunday to Tuesday, 7 PM - 7 AM with every other Wednesday, 11 PM - 7 AM.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Master's Degree in Social Work and licensure as a clinician or undergoing clinical supervision; or a Master's degree in counseling or a related field.
• Licenses/Certification: LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Five (5) years of experience in the psychiatric or healthcare field preferred, with internships considered.
• Solid knowledge of best practices in working with various psychiatric populations.
• Able to work independently and manage a diverse range of responsibilities.
• Proficient in conducting evaluations to assess psychosocial and psychiatric needs of individuals and families.
• Skilled in completing comprehensive risk assessments for suicide and homicide.
• Experience using the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM) for diagnosing mental health conditions.
• Ability to recommend appropriate psychiatric levels of care.
• Proficient in crisis intervention techniques and evidence-based counseling approaches.
• Familiarity with family systems and engaging families in treatment effectively.
• Up-to-date on core competencies, including HIPAA/Privacy, Cultural Competence, and Crisis Management.
• Strong interviewing, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to identify community resources and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills; adept in developing collaborative relationships.
• Open-minded and adaptable to change, with a commitment to working with diverse populations.
• Patient and tactful in dealings with clients and staff.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments to evaluate patient needs and risks.
• Identify self-harming behaviors and recommend precautions based on the patient's condition.
• Collaborate with BHS medical directors for case reviews and medication recommendations.
• Document psychiatric diagnoses and relevant clinical criteria accurately.
• Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships while providing counseling and treatment for various disorders.
• Educate patients and families about emotional disturbances and substance abuse issues.
• Facilitate access to community resources to support emotional and financial well-being.
• Provide intervention in cases related to abuse and violence.
• Serve as a resource for crisis counseling and treatment decision-making.
• Advocate for patient and family empowerment in health care decisions.
• Ensure adherence to protocols and standards to provide safe care.
• Commit to professional development, continually enhancing personal skills and supporting team growth.
• Perform other duties as required.
