In this pivotal role, you will spearhead engineering initiatives across IOG and its ventures, shaping how engineering is defined, executed, and assured. Drawing upon advanced strategic and systems thinking, you will develop and evolve our Engineering Operating System, which includes the standards, architectures, processes, and tools that guide our software development. You will also cultivate a culture of quality assurance, formal methods, and AI-enabled engineering practices to enhance reliability, scalability, and security.

You will promote a culture of continuous delivery and operational efficiency, establish best practices in engineering, specify tools and methods, and guarantee consistent application across the technology stack. This senior-level position requires strong people leadership to guide a small, impactful team that maintains accountability and drives exceptional engineering performance.

Your insights from competitive intelligence and research will help create actionable standards that ensure excellence across the organization. Your combination of deep analytical capabilities and executive communication will facilitate innovation at scale while safeguarding compliance and delivering long-term business impact. Key Responsibilities:

• Enterprise Engineering Vision and Governance: Develop and own the Engineering Operating System that outlines the principles, standards, and practices for engineering across IOG. Ensure the consistent adoption and implementation of these standards.
• Engineering Operating System: Establish architectural and technical guidelines that foster innovation and ensure maintainability and security. Oversee the selection and lifecycle management of programming tools and frameworks.
• AI-Enabled Engineering: Formulate strategies for integrating AI into engineering, focusing on AI-assisted code generation and automated testing.
• Quality Assurance: Lead group-wide quality assurance practices, establishing KPIs for software quality and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Internal Engineering Platform and Delivery Operations: Manage the organization’s internal engineering platform, optimizing CI/CD practices for effective and secure software delivery.
• Leadership of the Engineering Excellence Function: Cultivate a culture of delivery excellence and accountability, building a senior leadership team that can advance engineering standards throughout the organization.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with executives across Product, Research, and Operations to align engineering standards with product strategy.
• External Engagement: Represent IOG in engineering forums and standards bodies, reinforcing our leadership in the industry.
