The Inpatient Behavioral Health Specialist will play a crucial role in assessing, evaluating, and recommending treatment for patients who arrive at the Emergency Department with psychiatric concerns. This position also involves managing admissions to our inpatient psychiatric units.

Primary Duties:
- Complete relevant documentation while adhering to established standards and data reporting requirements.
- Coordinate admissions to Behavioral Health Services and ensure accurate referrals to appropriate internal or external resources.
- Facilitate effective communication with inpatient units, referral sources, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless admissions and transitions.
- Act as a liaison between our inpatient psychiatric units and external agencies to ensure timely processing of referrals and admissions.
- Engage in managing aggressive patient behaviors to maintain safety for all, and provide thorough crisis assessments as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about the continuum of care available, integrating family input to recommend suitable services.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and community resources to ensure optimal patient care and provide ongoing assessment documentation.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Active licensure as a Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Ph.D.
- 1-2 years of experience in assessing and determining the needs of patients with behavioral health disorders is preferred.
This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $60,632.00 - USD $111,259.00 per year.
