The Cato Corporation is seeking an experienced Benefits & Retirement Plans Specialist to join our HR Team
The Cato Corporation, a leading specialty retailer of value-priced women's fashion apparel with corporate offices located in Charlotte, North Carolina, operates three concepts: Cato, It's Fashion and Versona. The Company has approximately 1,100 stores throughout the United States and a diverse workforce of approximately 7,000 associates. The Company's stock is traded on the NYSE under the symbol CATO .
The Benefits and Retirement Plans Specialist reports to the SVP, Treasury, Tax & Credit, Secretary and supports the administration and day-to-day operations of the Company's Retirement plans: 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan ( ESPP ), Employee Stock Ownership Plan ( ESOP ), and Deferred Compensation plans including the annual open enrollment process, compliance reporting and invoicing. This is an in-office position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 401(k) Administration
- Employee Stock Ownership Plan Administration
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan Administration
- Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plan Administration
- Point of contact for Associates regarding all of the Company's retirement plans.
- Fill in as needed in other areas of Benefits, including Leave of Absence Administration and Medical/Dental insurance.
- Support the SVP, Treasury, Tax & Credit, Secretary with benefits and retirement plans funding and vendor payments.
- Support special projects and cross functional initiatives as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of retirement plans.
- Must be able to manage own work and meet deadlines as well as perform multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational/communication and customer service skills required.
Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2 to 3 years of direct experience in retirement or benefits administration.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Access primarily).
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of associate information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Advanced working knowledge of HRIS systems (Lawson Payroll/HR).
- Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting retirement plans.
- Report writing skill.
