As a Senior Network Infrastructure Platform Engineer, you will be at the forefront of significant technological transformations within Capital One, responsible for:

  • Network Design & Architecture: Planning and developing network infrastructure aligned with business requirements, creating Bill of Materials, obtaining vendor quotes, and overseeing the ordering and installation of network circuits.
  • Installation & Configuration: Setting up routers, SD-WAN routers, switches, Out of Band management, and other network devices.
  • Maintenance & Optimization: Monitoring network performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and improving network efficiency.
  • Security Management: Implementing robust security measures to safeguard against threats.
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving connectivity and performance challenges.
  • Upgrades & Scalability: Keeping network systems current with the latest technologies and ensuring scalability as our organization evolves.

You will also engage with various networking technologies such as LANs, WANs, SDWANs, VPNs, cloud networking, and wireless networks to facilitate seamless communication and data transfer. Automation and scripting skills are highly desired.

As a qualified candidate, you will bring:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience with build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory).
  • At least 4 years of experience with AWS.
  • At least 2 years of team leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Cisco network hardware and software.
  • 2+ years of experience in Python or Ansible scripting.

This role is currently not eligible for employment sponsorship. The location-specific salary ranges for this position are as follows:

  • Cambridge, MA: $158,400 - $180,800
  • Chicago, IL: $144,000 - $164,400
  • McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800
  • New York, NY: $172,800 - $197,200
  • Plano, TX: $144,000 - $164,400
  • Richmond, VA: $144,000 - $164,400
  • San Francisco, CA: $172,800 - $197,200
  • San Jose, CA: $172,800 - $197,200

This position is also eligible for performance-based incentives, including potential cash bonuses and long-term rewards.
