What You'll Do:

  • Lead dynamic technology projects while managing a skilled team, focusing on distributed microservices and full stack systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Stay ahead of technology trends, experiment with new tools, contribute to technology communities, and mentor your peers to promote continuous improvement in software development.

  • Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud solutions that enhance the financial empowerment of millions of users.

  • Utilize various programming languages (JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go) and database technologies, as well as container orchestration platforms including Docker and Kubernetes, while leveraging AWS services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering.

  • At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.

  • Over 7 years of experience with technologies such as JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.

  • 3+ years in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.).

  • 4+ years working with open source frameworks.

  • 1+ year of people management experience.

  • 2+ years of experience implementing Agile practices.

Location: Richmond, VA. Salary range: $175,800 - $200,700 for Lead Software Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a powerful team at Capital One, where you can help shape the future of banking technology.
