What You'll Do:

  • Lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects and manage a team of experienced developers specializing in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions that address the company’s regulatory requirements.

  • Stay ahead of tech trends, experiment with new technologies, engage with internal and external tech communities, and mentor fellow engineers, while sometimes coding or reviewing code yourself.

  • Work closely with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance the financial empowerment of millions of Americans.

  • Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, along with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and various AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • At least 6 years of software engineering experience (excluding internships).

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

  • At least 4 years of experience in people management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.

  • 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.

  • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.

  • 7+ years of people management experience.

  • 2+ years of experience applying Agile practices.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role in Richmond, VA are $204,900 - $233,800 for a Senior Manager in Software Engineering.
