POSITION OVERVIEW:

We have a full-time opening for a Refinery Electrician, reporting to the Electrical Foreman. This role operates on a Monday-Thursday 4-10 schedule, with occasional weekends and holidays. The Electrician will play a vital role in ensuring the operational excellence of our refinery by maintaining electrical systems that are safe, compliant, and reliable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize a variety of tools and equipment to effectively troubleshoot, repair, install, and commission various electrical systems such as motor circuits, low and medium voltage switchgear, and motor control centers.

  • Ensure all work is performed according to applicable standards and specifications (Marathon, Industry, or Manufacturer).

  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities aligned with our Mechanical Integrity Program.

  • Read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and operate testing equipment.

  • Implement Lock out/Tag out procedures and adhere to all industrial safety protocols.

  • Understand and follow Marathon's electrical safety practices.

  • Manage the racking in and out of electrical circuit breakers.

  • Maintain current safety training in accordance with site requirements.

  • Recognize when electrical PPE is necessary and apply it appropriately.

  • Promote a cooperative attitude and teamwork to achieve safe and high-quality work outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED essential.

  • Must hold a Minnesota Master or Journeyman Electrician License.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

  • Ability to grasp intricate refinery-related material.

  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.

  • A Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required upon hire.

  • This position involves a scheduled 4-day, 10-hour work shift and may require occasional weekend, night, or holiday shifts.

  • The ideal candidate must be physically capable of performing essential job functions and must comply with a strict Drug and Alcohol policy.

  • Applicants will undergo pre-employment assessments, including a written test and physical evaluation.

  • Knowledge of refinery equipment codes and standards is advantageous.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

  • Must be adept at wearing appropriate PPE and be physically able to perform different tasks in various settings, including maintenance shops, outdoor areas, process units, at heights, and in confined spaces.

  • Capability to support TAR as needed.

Compensation:

This position offers a starting pay rate of $54.91 during training, with a maximum rate of $56.89 based on demonstrated qualifications after being hired, along with scheduled annual increases.
