Job Type: Contract (4-6 months with opportunity for extension and conversion)

The MES/SCADA Project Manager with IoT Experience will lead and manage projects related to the implementation, integration, and optimization of MES, SCADA, and IT/OT systems within manufacturing environments. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensuring that project goals are met in alignment with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, process control, and system integration, with a focus on optimizing manufacturing efficiency and ensuring high levels of system reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years with various manufacturing controls and digital systems (PLCs, OT, SCADA, MES, SAP, etc.)
• 5+ years’ experience as a technical project manager or product owner in the smart manufacturing space
• Experience with, and understanding of Industrial Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) and SCADA (AVEVA, Rockwell PLC/HMIs)
• Hands-on smart manufacturing and/or digital transformation project implementation experience is preferred
• Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, ServiceNow).
• Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in MES, SCADA, and IoT systems are a plus.

Description and Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Management: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Define project milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor and track project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to meet project goals.
• Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including engineers, IT professionals, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clarity and accountability.
• System Implementation and Integration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and integration of MES, SCADA, and OT systems.
  • Ensure that systems are implemented according to specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with IT and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and IoT devices.
• IoT Integration: Develop and implement strategies for integrating IoT devices and sensors with MES and SCADA systems.
  • Ensure data from IoT devices is accurately captured, transmitted, and analyzed.
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to leverage IoT data for process optimization and predictive maintenance.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks and audits.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the project lifecycle.

• Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with projects.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors.
• Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders and/or Steering Committee.
• Address stakeholder concerns and feedback promptly and effectively.
