Overview: MV Transportation is looking for a proactive and dedicated Human Resources Department Manager to effectively manage and enhance the administrative functions of our workforce. This crucial role will establish a vital connection between our employees and management, ensuring a responsive and efficient HR operation. The Human Resources Department Manager will focus on employee recruitment, retention, and engagement, which are key to providing outstanding service in the transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing, recruiting, and hiring talented employees.
  • Maintaining accurate financial, payroll, personnel, and compliance records.
  • Developing and implementing creative recruitment strategies to attract specialized talent.
  • Establishing a comprehensive hiring process, including application reviews, screenings, interviews, and background checks.
  • Ensuring precise maintenance of personnel records and compliance documentation.
  • Administering competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Addressing and investigating staff concerns or complaints reported through various channels.
  • Implementing initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and reduce turnover rates.
  • Reviewing and adapting organizational policies to maintain compliance and improve performance.
  • Developing and updating job descriptions and training/certification procedures.
  • Monitoring staffing needs and communicating required adjustments with team leads.
  • Administering timely and objective employee evaluations.
  • Collaborating with management to achieve performance objectives.
  • Ensuring adherence to all client, company, state, and federal employment regulations.
  • Serving as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) officer.
  • Acting as a liaison with employee union representatives.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in HR management for organizations with 200+ employees.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Human Resources certifications are an advantage.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and diplomacy skills for effective communication at all organizational levels.
