As an ideal candidate, you will possess a strong understanding of large-scale distributed systems in cloud-based environments. You will have a proven track record of taking ownership of projects, championing best practices, and enhancing the development processes to benefit both the team and the organization. Your expertise in complex service delivery and hands-on software development will help foster an engineering environment that embodies the highest standards for development and testing practices.

You will think strategically about the architecture and design of software systems that connect various products, critically evaluating and communicating technical trade-offs to stakeholders. Your role will include ensuring the delivery of quality solutions, training, and mentoring junior team members on best practices in software development methodologies and frameworks across web, mobile, backend APIs, usability, and quality testing.

You will collaborate closely with business and technology leadership to influence, refine, and communicate platform strategies to the broader team.

Essential Job Functions

• Design and drive internal methodologies and process improvements to shape our engineering organization into a world-class team leveraging best-in-class practices and technologies, including:

• Agile (Scrum)
• Cross-domain end-to-end design and implementation of complex features
• Continuous Integration and Delivery (DevOps)
• Software maturity and quality
• Versioning and scope control
• Unit testing and code analysis
• Application security design and testing
• Domain knowledge in application development, including client/server, web services, middleware, microservices, and mobile apps
• Articulate complex technical issues clearly to all organizational levels
• Review and approve project deliverables to ensure architectural integrity and fit within enterprise design
• Enforce quality practices and provide quality metrics to leadership; drive quality initiatives during design and development
• Guide the DevOps function within the company
• Manage project scope and delivery expectations with business partners, communicate status updates, overcome obstacles, and mitigate risks
• Collaborate with business and enterprise architecture teams to ensure application design and implementation align with requirements and the technical roadmap
• Provide oversight for the design, implementation, timely release, and maintenance of products that meet customer expectations and uphold high standards of quality, stability, and performance

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of overall IT system architecture, design, development, and deployment experience
• 3-5 years of full-stack development experience with AngularJS and Node.JS
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing the delivery of large-scale, distributed, web-based, mission-critical products/platforms in fast-paced agile environments
• Experience with agile methodologies in software development
• Knowledge of enterprise applications using object-oriented design, microservices architecture, and SOLID principles
• Extensive experience with NodeJS, AngularJS, Cordova/Ionic, Docker, REST, JSON, XML, HTML/HTML5, CSS, NoSQL, Maven, and AWS/Cloud infrastructure
• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB and Redis
• Flexible and adaptable, managing multiple responsibilities and adjusting to varied environments
• Solid understanding of CI/CD tools and DevOps principles
• Effective leadership with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on talent development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with web services, system integration, and service-oriented architecture
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite of products (Confluence, Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.)

Salary Note

Salary Range - $130,000 - $150,000+/year. This is an estimated range based on current conditions, but may change based on factors like skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand.
