Mobile Response Crisis Clinician

MRT PRN Crisis Clinicians are hourly positions, nonexempt, and are not eligible for BNC benefits. Hourly pay is $50 with applicable shift differentials. The MRT operates 18/7/365 with plans to expand operation hours. Shift Differentials are applicable when supporting crisis services as the needs for extended hours of coverage to ensure services to community are not disrupted and apply as follows:
Day Shift is defined as any hours worked between 8am to 3pm; Evening Shift is defined as any hours worked between 3:00pm and 11:00pm; Night Shift is defined as any hours worked between 11:00pm and 2:00am
- Evening shift differential $2.50, Night shift differential $3.50
- Weekend shifts are defined as being worked between 11 pm Friday through 2am Monday
- Weekend Day shift differential $2.50
- Weekend Evening shift differential $4.50, Weekend Night shift differential $5.25
The PRN Mobile Crisis Clinician will be willing to strongly advocate for the best interests of those receiving services and have a strong passion for Public Service. This role requires ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or substance abuse issues, especially those experiencing a psychiatric crisis; ability to work independently and as a member of a crisis services team; possess demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to react effectively in a variety of human service situations.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
- Response must occur within 45 minutes of contact being made
- Staff will be able to assess, make clinical decisions, and are willing provide deescalating skills in intense situations
- Complete emergent crisis assessments, state mental health screens, Douglas County Jail assessments
- Aid in access to recommended services such as inpatient hospitalization, substance abuse services, outpatient therapy, child rehabilitation services, adult rehabilitation services, and psychiatric services
- Collaborate with BNC MRT colleagues, our broader organization, and other outside providers in the coordination of appropriate service and level of care
- Meet and comply with all administrative and clinical documentation requirements for clinical staff
- Responsibly and ethically carry out all job duties with minimal supervision
- Meet direct service expectations and comply with other established standards as established

- To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must have and maintain full Kansas licensure with BSRB, fulfill job duties in a timely manner.
- Must be located geographically in Douglas County for entirety of shift duration to ensure consistent and efficient crisis response team.
- Must be willing to collaborate and coordinate with local law enforcement/EMS/hospital emergency department/multidisciplinary community partners as appropriate and necessary to coordinate care and ensure a safe environment for the patient and staff providing mental health support and assessment.
- Complete all required trainings(KS Train, Relias, Basic CPR, First Aid, CPI) and onboarding in full within 30 days, establish and maintain a working competency in the management and use of the Center's electronic medical record (EMR) software as demonstrated by timely and accurate documentation of the clinical record
