ONSITE in Irving, TX.
Location: Fully onsite, M - F
Environment: Established database environment. Almost all Oracle, but there are a few databases on SQL Server as well. Oracle is version 19. SQL Server is 2019, but plans to upgrade to 2022. Databases all on prem. They recently completed a physical to physical migration at their datacenter.
Responsibilities: 80% DBA, 20% project coordination (there is a PM in place)
MUST HAVES: Data guard (expert level)...RMAN
Additional info: Must be flexible...team player...must be cautious...very detail oriented...this is their main DB...mistakes must be avoided
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Oracle/SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong project management capabilities. This role is 80% focused on database administration and 20% on project coordination and execution. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle and SQL Server, with advanced knowledge of Oracle Data Guard being a strong plus.
You will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning of mission-critical database systems. Additionally, you will support IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Serve as the primary DBA for Oracle and SQL Server environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL procedures and scripts.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including SQL profiling and index tuning.
• Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.
• Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with internal policies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents.
• Provide on-call support and perform maintenance during off-hours as needed.
• ssist in planning and managing IT infrastructure projects, including timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
