Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) utilizes their expertise to perform tests on samples including blood, urine, and other fluids to help diagnose and evaluate patient conditions. You will engage in Performance Improvement activities, ensuring continuous Quality Improvement while maintaining cultural awareness and promoting teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle specimen processing and inspect specimens for identification and integrity.
  • Perform various laboratory tests on patient specimens, evaluate results, and report/enter/verify them in the Laboratory Information System.
  • Conduct periodic quality control checks following policy and procedure.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new or modified procedures, reagents, and instruments as instructed.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory instruments as directed.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives and goals set by management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree; graduate from an NCCLS accredited Medical Technician program.
  • Hospital laboratory experience is preferred.
