Equitable is currently looking to hire a Paralegal within the Regulatory Affairs Practice Group which is a part of Equitable’s Legal and Compliance organization As a key member of the team, this role would manage regulatory filings to state and federal regulators relating to provision of life insurance, annuities and supplemental health benefits as well as filings and reports related to state lobbying activities.  This includes gathering relevant information from internal stakeholders, preparing such filings for submission, and engaging with regulators with respect to such filings as required.  

In addition, the role will be responsible for assisting with the handling of state insurance department market conduct examinations and overall management of the Company’s relationships with industry trade organizations, including tracking Company representation within such groups as necessary to ensure appropriate representation.

As a Regulatory Affairs Paralegal, the specific responsibilities include:

  • Track regulatory deadlines and develop processes to ensure that Company filings are submitted in a timely fashion to both state and federal regulators.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries related to such filings and engaging with internal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and assist with the handling of state insurance department market conduct examinations and engaging with internal stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Management and oversight of the Company’s relationships with industry organizations (e.g., coordinating representation on committees, tracking budget impacts and qualitative analysis of effective use of resources).

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $94,000.  Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
