Job Description:

The Director, Merchandise Planning & Analytics will be responsible for leading the development, execution, and optimization of strategies that drive space and pricing decisions across RaceTrac. This individual will play a key role in optimizing product placement, store layout, and pricing structures to drive profitability by establishing the proper strategies, analytics, and key performance indicators.

What You'll Do:

Space Planning

  • Drive the development and execution of space planning strategies, ensuring optimal product placement to maximize sales, improve product flow, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure that space planning decisions are scalable and aligned with evolving customer needs and business growth.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Store Operations, and Marketing to ensure cohesive execution of space plans.
  • Leverage advanced data analytics to support merchandising and assortment related decision-making across all categories.
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of space planning strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in retail space planning and analytics, actively seeking opportunities to innovate and enhance processes that improve performance.
Pricing
  • Lead pricing architecture including base, promotional, markdown, and clearance pricing.
  • Oversee advanced predictive analytics to optimize pricing structures, model the impact of proposed pricing strategies, and assess macroeconomic and industry trends to inform and refine pricing decisions that drive profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Spearhead the implementation, integration, and continuous improvement of revenue management systems, solutions, and processes to support RaceTrac's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing to align pricing with assortment planning and promotional calendars.
  • Lead the design and execution of solutions that incorporate advanced analytics and science-based methodologies to inform pricing decisions.
Leadership
  • Develop, coach, and train the Space Planning and Pricing teams. Focus on sharing knowledge and providing the tools necessary to increase department growth and exposure. Encourage continuous two-way feedback from all team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leading initiatives to refine analytics processes, optimize systems, and drive efficiencies across the merchandising team.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year College or University or equivalent experience required; Advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years professional experience in merchandising or related field preferred.
  • Managerial Experience required.
  • Project Management skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with the retail industry preferred

Responsibilities:

Space Planning
