Halff has an opening for a Senior Roadway Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to serve as a Senior Project Manager on our growing Roadway / Transportation team based out of our McAllen, TX office. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in roadway / transportation project development, focusing on the delivery of TxDOT projects. What you will do:- Work closely with the Transportation Team Leader in the development and delivery of TxDOT roadway / transportation projects.
- Perform complex transportation engineering tasks and lead other professional staff in developing transportation projects.
- Develop and manage project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules, and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple transportation tasks or projects to support business needs.
- Manage other consultant teams and the workload of design staff, including Engineers, EITs, and technical staff that contribute to the safety and growth of Texas roadways.
- Review transportation deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
- Report on project progress and budgets.
- Work with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Managers in business development activities.
- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET?accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or willingness to obtain it within six months.
- At least 15 years of experience in TxDOT roadway / transportation project delivery.
- Experience with MicroStation CADD and OpenRoads.
- Ability to lead a project, present technical staff, and manage schedules and budgets.
- Experience managing roadway design projects and plan production.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and decision?making ability.
- Commitment to quality and a positive, self?directed team mindset.
- Prior TxDOT experience (as an employee or consultant) is desirable.
- Primavera (P6) experience is desirable.
- Multi?disciplinary teams to tackle aging infrastructure and shrinking budgets.
- Extensive knowledge in planning, design, and managing transportation projects.
