Join our dynamic team in supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as we provide essential command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services. This role is vital in ensuring smooth operations and excellent service delivery for the Department of Defense and national security organizations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineering Specialist who will play a critical role in overseeing the installation, configuration, testing, monitoring, and servicing of network equipment. This position is pivotal to the activation of networks for various projects that support Department of Defense networks.

Clearance requirement: U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance

**The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000**

Primary Responsibilities: As a Network Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for performing and training the team on the following duties:

• Coordinate with customers for Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execute reporting functions, and manage data input relating to new service activations to comply with DISA standards.

• Collaborate with clients, solution architects, and vendor SMEs to implement changes while identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues.

• Manage Service Orders in line with Change Management procedures.

• Ensure that Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are created and accurately reflect scheduled network additions and changes.

• Initiate network device configurations using configlets.

• Analyze DISN and databases to validate and implement customer requirements effectively.

• Design and implement solutions to complex technical issues through thorough testing, documentation, and configuration adjustments on network devices.

• Coordinate and program customer circuit activations with commercial vendors to ensure seamless end-to-end connectivity.

• Monitor networks to evaluate the effects of changes on customer traffic using established expectations and lessons learned.

• Utilize systems analysis techniques, including user consultations to determine functional requirements for hardware and software in support of customer resources.

• Engage with DISA project managers and customers to clarify incomplete or unclear requirements.

• Facilitate necessary approvals by reaching out to stakeholders to ensure consistent progress on service requests.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 2-6 years.

• Strong understanding of various network hardware specifications, configuration, and testing processes.

• Experience in configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.

• Background in network engineering, problem management, and performance management.

• Solid grasp of telecommunications and information technology terminologies and technologies.

• Familiarity with data and voice network design using military and commercial protocols.

• Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF) and appliances (routers, load balancers, firewalls).

• Able to work in a team yet self-motivated to complete tasks and enhance skills continuously.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with team collaboration abilities.

• An active Secret security clearance is mandatory.

• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience at DISA or a good understanding of DISA systems and processes.

• Experience with SharePoint data entry.

• Proficiency in customer outreach activities.

• Knowledge of DISA Request Fulfillment processes and associated documents.

• Understanding of Department of Defense policies and hierarchy.

• Basic awareness of DISA's organizational structure and its components.

• Relevant network certifications: Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft (MCSE), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP), and ITIL certification.
