INFECTIOUS DISEASE PHYSICIAN

MaineHealth Medical Group is seeking a full time BC/BE Infectious Disease physician to join a well-established, collegial, ten-physician academic group practicing clinical infectious disease in both the hospital and outpatient clinic. We see a wide array of infections encompassing renal and heart transplant patients, LVADs, hematologic/oncologic malignancies, vector-borne illnesses, HIV, surgical infections, and diseases of refugees and travelers. Our physicians are also faculty in the Department of Medicine at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland and participate in the teaching and research programs of the state’s largest tertiary care center, with academic appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine. Typical weekend call coverage is approximately every 10 weeks. We work closely with four Infectious Disease PharmD specialists and a doctoral-level clinical microbiology lab director. The MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Antimicrobial Stewardship Program is an Infectious Diseases Society of America-designated Center of Excellence.
Maine Medical Center has 929 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and Level I Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. The successful candidate will have an academic teaching appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine, as the position will involve teaching and mentoring ID fellows, IM residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program.
