About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Processor to join our HR/Finance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing payroll within a nursing home or long-term care environment and be proficient in Empeon payroll software. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a solid understanding of payroll regulations and compliance within the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time using Empeon.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, deductions, and accruals.
  • Verify timecards, PTO balances, and adjustments for accuracy.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and prepare related financial summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Support audits and reporting as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll processing experience in a nursing home, long-term care, or healthcare facility.
  • Proficiency in Empeon is required.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
  • Experience with union payrolls or multi-location facilities.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefit deductions.
