We are seeking a skilled and meticulous CONUS Conference Planner & Protocol Officer to develop and execute comprehensive conference strategies and protocol management for events within the Continental United States (CONUS) in support of the Army Security Assistance Enterprise (ASAE). This role combines strategic conference planning, protocol expertise, and stakeholder coordination to maximize the impact of domestic engagements in the global security assistance community.

Position Overview

As a CONUS Conference Planner & Protocol Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Army Security Assistance Enterprise's (ASAE) engagement strategies for domestic events. Your expertise in event planning, protocol, and strategic messaging will directly enhance the U.S. Army's influence and partnerships in the global security assistance arena through expertly managed CONUS-based conferences and engagements.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of protocol standards, and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and international stakeholders attending domestic events. You will collaborate with internal teams, external conference planners, and industry leaders to ensure seamless execution of CONUS events that align with strategic objectives and advance ASAE's mission within the Continental United States.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Event Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement strategic plans for ASAE participation in high-profile industry conferences and engagements within CONUS, ensuring alignment with ASAE objectives• Identify and prioritize events in the security assistance, security cooperation, and technology transfer sectors across the Continental United States to maximize impact• Oversee all aspects of event logistics for domestic conferences, including venue coordination, travel arrangements, and audiovisual requirements

Protocol Leadership

• Lead protocol planning for senior executives and VIPs attending CONUS events, ensuring adherence to Department of Defense (DoD) and international protocol standards• Advise leadership on etiquette, cultural considerations, and ceremonial procedures to ensure professional representation at domestic engagements• Manage seating arrangements, introductions, and ceremonial elements for high-level CONUS-based engagements

Stakeholder Engagement & Messaging

• Collaborate with internal teams, external conference planners, and industry leaders to ensure seamless execution of domestic events• Develop talking points, presentations, and briefing materials to support ASAE messaging and strategic objectives for CONUS conferences• Act as a trusted liaison between ASAE stakeholders, conference organizers, and partner organizations for domestic engagements

Post-Event Analysis & Strategic Assessment

• Measure the success of CONUS event participation through metrics such as stakeholder engagement, message delivery, and strategic impact• Produce detailed post-event reports with actionable recommendations for future domestic engagements• Maintain comprehensive records of conference outcomes and lessons learned from CONUS-based events

Required Experience:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, international relations, event management, or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in event planning, protocol management, or strategic communications, preferably in the defense or government sector

• Strong understanding of protocol standards, including DoD and international customs for domestic events

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and professionalism

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders and international stakeholders in CONUS settings

Must possess and active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Army Security Assistance Enterprise operations or foreign military sales programs

• Professional certification in protocol management (Protocol School of Washington) or event planning (CMP, CSEP)

• Previous experience coordinating CONUS events with flag officers, senior executive service members, or equivalent-level officials

• Knowledge of defense industry conference landscape and key stakeholder organizations within the Continental United States
